It’s been a while since I’ve been here. 11 years to be exact. It’s always interesting going back to a place you visited when you were younger. Perspectives definitely change, and the memories are completely different. When I saw the duomo again in Milan this time, there was a familiarity about it. At the same time it looked so foreign. We visited so many different cathedrals during my two weeks in Italy I could probably keep this blog going with cathedral posts for a good two weeks or so. This one in Milan was absolutely breathtaking.
Does that not look like a picture taken out of a fairytale movie? Ok maybe not fairytale, but everything about the church just looks majestic. It’s still hard for me to comprehend what people were capable of building back in the day. You don’t see buildings like these anymore, especially in the U.S.
There’s another picture with no filter. I don’t know if you can tell from the picture but the square itself that the church is located in is just as impressive.
And another. This cathedral actually had a strict dress code of no shorts or bare shoulders that was enforced, so I walked in awkwardly with my jacket wrapped around my waist to cover my bare legs. The inside was gorgeous as well but I wasn’t able to snap any pictures.
I have so many more posts to write about my trip to Italy. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the pictures of the grand duomo of Milan.
