I’m very particular about what I put on my laptop (stickers, cases, etc.). Well, maybe particular isn’t the right word. Let’s just say I have a short attention span. One day I might be feeling something light and minimalistic, the next I might be feeling something more bold and statement-making. Up until recently, I resorted to stickers. You can find an amazing variety of stickers from almost anywhere, and they come off easily in case you want to change it up. I had tried laptop cases before…but didn’t like the idea of having to purchase a new one whenever I wanted to change up the design.
But then I came across Brik and their innovative take on laptop cases, lego style. These cases somehow manage to hit the best of both worlds. They can be minimalistic, bold, and are essentially customizable to your heart’s content. Of course, for those of you like me who are artistically challenged and don’t want to create your own design, Brik’s website has PLENTY of existing templates to choose from. Believe me, I spent at least a good 2 hours browsing and narrowing down my options until I finally decided on the Winnie the Pooh case. So many good designs!! Some of my other favorites were:
The decision was not easy!! The links above all feature the design on MacBook cases, but these designs are PC-friendly as well (see picture below). Heck, you can even build it on a wall tile to serve as wall decor if you wanted. Love the versatility of these Briks.
Price-wise, yes it’s not a small sum, but it’s really just the case that you have to make the initial investment in. The MacBook cases are pricier, but you can also get the Lite version that works with PC and Macs. The Lite version (“Laptop Case” in the picture above), is a removable adhesive instead of a full on case. Still does the same thing, the only difference is that the design may be more cropped.
The price depends on the type of case and the design (how many Brik pieces, colors, etc.). The hamburger laptop case, for example, is cheaper than the Totoro laptop case. And the hamburger MacBook case is also cheaper than the Totoro MacBook case.
If you already have the base case and just want to change up the design, you can also buy just the Briks. So there’s definitely flexibility that allows you to choose what you want to do with the design. You can even build your own design with their online tool! I’m…not artistically gifted enough for that, haha. Maybe someday.
The case and the Briks come packaged separately. Yes you do have to put together the case yourself! I think that’s the best part 🙂 Just follow the template and make sure you’re placing the pieces in the right place. The Winnie the Pooh design took me and my boyfriend about 30 min to put together? It was so much fun! Felt like we were kids again building legos. Which I think is large part of the appeal here. And the finished product looks amazing! I’ve received so many compliments and questions about where I got my case.
The Brik team was also nice enough to offer a 20% discount code (valid until the end of the month): WRX2S0XXNVY6
Take advantage of it while you can!! Can’t recommend this case enough. Would make a great back-to-school gift! Or if you want to get a head start on Christmas shopping…;)
