I feel like I cherish weekends way more nowadays. Maybe because the work week has been getting so busy, or maybe because I’ve started to appreciate a slower pace. I’ve mentioned this before, but at one point, weekends actually made me really anxious. I felt like I always had to have something planned, something that would make full use of the 2 days since I wouldn’t have that kind of free time during the week. Sure, we did a lot of the weekends, but it was SO exhausting. Nowadays, while I still sometimes get the itch to plan a day trip here and there, I’ve started to look forward to the simple things – sleeping in, a chill morning at the farmer’s market, COOKING, How I Met Your Mother (yes I finally started watching that show), etc. And it’s been so refreshing! So here’s a glimpse of this past Saturday – a jeans and tank kind of day spent at a local farmer’s market 🙂
So because Victor and I don’t cook all that often (basically ever), we’ve actually never bought produce from the farmer’s market! But everything looked so fresh this time we couldn’t resist. We bought all the ingredients for a delicious omelette – an onion (50 cents, also the size of my head), a heirloom tomato, and a large green bell pepper. All for just $3! And we got a half-dozen farm fresh eggs ($6). Not sure how different these farm fresh eggs are supposed to taste (I honestly couldn’t really taste the difference), but the colors got me. I mean, you can’t say know to blue and green eggs! I’m determined to make this a weekly tradition now. Even after a 6-egg omelette, we still had so many veggie ingredients left over. Which means…veggie fried rice dinner? I think yes!
If you guys are near Half Moon Bay, this farmer’s market happens every Saturday 9am-1pm. And it’s right next to a delicious lunch spot where you can find hamburger sandwiches (yes, you read that right). Trust me, it’s worth a visit! The lunch spot was actually the main reason we ended up in Half Moon Bay to begin with.
The farmer’s market was pretty close to a beach (Half Moon Bay area), so we decided to take a stroll afterwards.
I was recently introduced to a brand called AU-Rate, and they make gorgeous, delicate, jewelry pieces. The necklace I’m wearing is the Zodiac Necklace (gemini, rose gold), and I love how it elegantly enhances any outfit. Their pieces are all very high quality, and you can’t beat their thoughtful packaging.
I’ve also been loving these jeans from Everlane! Got them over a year ago and didn’t really start wearing them regularly until a few months back. I think they take some time to stretch out, but now I love the way they fit, and they go perfectly with a tank/cardigan (my cardigan is from Madewell). And, of course, my beloved flip flops.
So, since I got the necklace in the mail literally the day before and was obsessed with the packaging (and the necklace itself), I decided to have a little fun shooting!
Loved all the pink they incorporated into the packaging! Anyway, it was a was a wonderfully chill and simple weekend, and I can’t wait to go back to another farmer’s market again soon!
