After a dreadful week of finals, I am finally done with this quarter! Going home tomorrow, and I’m beyond excited. I decided to do a post today about San Francisco. SF is my NorCal home. I’m not exactly from SF, but SF is the closest well-known city that people actually know about, so I usually just say I’m from there. The thing I love about going back and forth between LA and SF is the dramatic change in environment I get to experience (even if it is just for a week). LA is so laid-back, with great weather, beautiful beaches, and just so many things to do. When I go back home to SF, it’s very…I wouldn’t say gloomy, although the fog does get to you sometimes. SF is what I would call a more sophisticated, FOGGIER version of LA. It has it’s own unique beauty that sets it apart. And you gotta love the seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The last time I was home was around November. It’s been way too long!
All of these pictures are from Pier 39/Fisherman’s Wharf. Between Union Square and Pier 39, I’d pick Pier 39 almost every time. Unless you want to do some major shopping, Pier 39 is what I think truly sets SF apart and is definitely worth a visit if you ever make a trip up to NorCal.
You don’t get views like that in many places. I have so many versions of this same picture because I literally stood at the dock for about 30 minutes trying to take advantage of the amazing lighting and the numerous filters on my phone. I still like this one the best though.
And of course, you can’t forget the crab. Freshly steamed, right off of Fisherman’s Wharf. It is a little bit pricey, but hey if you’re only going to be there once you might as well give it a try! The clam chowder there is quite good too.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed this short spotlight on Pier 39 at SF. So excited to be going home tomorrow. Hope you guys have a great weekend! 🙂
