I’m taking you guys on an afternoon tea adventure today! So…I’ve decided that I have mixed feelings about afternoon tea. Everything is super cute/gorgeous/girly and beautifully presented, the atmosphere is great, but IDK man…that hefty price tag just isn’t worth it! For me, at least. I remember when they brought the food out, I just stared at our “3-tier tower” of snacks and thought: “Wait really, that’s it? I paid $50 for this?” I’ve been told that $50 is a pretty typical price-per-person estimate for this type of experience. And the place that I went to isn’t even considered “high-end.” I guess I won’t be going to the fancy hotels in SF for afternoon tea anytime soon. But I’m glad I tried it out. It was fun, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer to spend my money on unlimited food, not tea. (You get unlimited refills for tea, and only tea.)
At least we have some good pictures to look back on. I just don’t like tea enough to shell out that much money for an afternoon outing. What are your thought on afternoon tea? Let me know if I’m trying out the wrong places, haha. I’m definitely open to giving it another chance π
XOXO,
Ooooh I would love that! It all looks so cosy! Those teapots and mugs are just too cute!
Yeah the ambiance and decor were really nice π
Wow it looks cute and everything, but 50$ is no joke. It might be a once-in-a-while experience, definitely not a regular thing π

I totally agree–definitely not something I can imagine doing on a regular basis!
I love afternoon tea, but I must admit I like the quaintness of everything, rather than the price tag. And we’re rubbish at eating it…it’s supposed to be leisurely eaten over a few hours. We generally finish in less than an hour – then can’t move for feeling so full! We really need to learn how to be more dainty and slow down π
Yes the atmosphere was very nice! Hahaha that happened to me and my friends too. Although we came here as a substitute for lunch so we didn’t find the food too filling π
Lovely tea part!!!! what cute pots…. π
Hehehe, my favorite part too. If they could bring the price down a little lower I’d definitely go more often!
I’m actually checking out the location in Santana Row this weekend for a bridal shower. My personal favorites are Satori Tea Co. (SJ) and Crown & Cumpet (SF). It can be a bit much for some, but it’s pretty filling for myself.
Let me know how the Santana Row location is! I was originally planning to go to that one but they were completely booked. I didn’t know you had to book at least a week ahead of time =/ But thanks for the other recommendations π
I do love Afternoon Tea/High Tea – love scones, jam and fresh cream…but I like to enjoy a glass of champagne with it as well.
Ahhh I wish they had fresh jam/cream at the place I went to. Your version sounds so much better haha π
Hello :3 I nominated you for the B.R.A., it is just something to spread your blog a bit more. Cause you know, you deserve it π

Thank you Katie!! π Will check out your post soon!
I think it is because of the ambiance so the prices are always UP.
I would love to go to a tea party @Emirates Palace someday π
Yeah I think so too! And omg I just browsed pictures of Emirates Palace it’s so pretty! Someday haha….I wonder how expensive an afternoon tea session there is.
I love afternoon tea ! Great post π
