CaseApp reached out to me a couple weeks ago asking if I would be interested in trying out their service. To be honest, when they said “design your own phone case,” my first thought was “oh man, ain’t nobody got time for that.” BUT. I am really happy I gave it a try. The customization/design process is really easy and flexible–so you put as much effort in as you want. And even with little effort, you can achieve a pretty darn good looking phone case. So before I talk more about the design experience and the case itself, y’all can first see how my case turned out:
Yes, I do realize the initials are a bit obnoxious, but I really like how it turned out! So, first things first…some general information about CaseApp. CaseApp provides an online tool/service that allows you to design custom iPhone cases (and some Samsung cases too) and custom laptop skins. I just stuck with the iPhone case since I’m really OCD about putting anything on my laptop, but for anyone who tries the custom laptop skin, let me know how it is!
As for the design/customization process, it’s pretty straightforward. You first choose your iPhone model, and then you can either start with one of the pre-made designs or create an entirely new one from scratch. I started with the pre-made marble design, then added on the pink strip at the bottom with clip art and my life motto (lol). The clip arts are included in the web app, and they have some really cute ones! You can also upload your own pictures to use in your design. I’ve seen people upload pictures of their friends and family and create a photo grid type of design. It’s pretty cool what you can do in terms of design. I could have spent literally hours on this, but I decided on a stopping point an hour in 🙂 I’m really happy with the way it turned out!
Once you’re happy with your design, you can proceed to checkout. These phone cases aren’t cheap. I paid $37 for my iPhone 6s Plus case. If it wasn’t for the customizable nature of these cases, I would definitely have opted out. BUT. I do think it’s cool to try this out at least once. You’ll come out with a very unique phone case that you can show off to friends and family as being solely yours. And there’s something very satisfying about that 🙂 Shipping takes about a week, which isn’t bad at all.
Now about the case itself. The case is very good quality! The texture is super smooth and it fits the phone like a glove. The smooth texture does make the phone feel a bit more slippery than I’m used to (I was previously using a rubbery case), but it’s also thinner and overall just looks better. It’s light and doesn’t add too much weight, and it pops on and off pretty easily. My only complaint is that the case doesn’t go over the top and bottom edges. It has the corners down, but I can imagine for some people who drop their phones a lot, that might be a deal breaker. Actually, I literally just check their website and looks like they got those people covered too…they have a “tough” version of the case that covers all edges and corners of the phone. Same price too. Darn…should have gotten that instead, haha. Time to make another one!
CaseApp was nice enough to offer you guys a 20% discount code! So if you order your case now through the end of July, use the promo code REASYUME20 for 20% off your order.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! And feel free to reach out if you have specific questions 🙂
XOXO,
I love this case! The design is beautiful and your customisations are great, I’ll have to give this a try 🙂
