Hope ya’ll are having a lovely weekend! I wanted to talk about a pretty cool subscription box that I came across recently: Bon Appetit. For those of you who like food and travel (and French food), this isย your box. I had the opportunity to try their Petite Aperitif Box, and I loved it! It really felt like having an authentic French dining experience delivered to your door. And I love how they don’t lock you into a subscription if that’s not your thing. Their boxes are available as single purchases as well, which is super nice for those of you who want to try it out before committing.
Anyway, let’s talk about the box! The packaging is great, and very sturdy. You don’t have to worry about your food spilling out everywhere. They stuff the boxes pretty well. You get a cute little greeting card that introduces you to the concept behind Bon Appetit, and another card that details what’s inside of the box. Let’s dig in!
Some first impressions:
- The sizes of the items are great. Unlike a lot of snack boxes of similar size where you get a tiny sample of 10 things, this box gives you a solid amount of 3 authentic appetizers, and bread crackers to go along with them. And I really appreciate the info card that tells you how to eat the different things inside the box–what goes with what, etc.
- Curation of the items in the box is fantastic. The couple who started Bon Appetit are from the southern part of France, and moved to Paris together for business school. And what better city to explore food than in Paris? Duck rillettes, gherkins, eggplant and red pepper spread–you can tell they put a lot of thought into putting this box together. Very much appreciated!
The food in this box inspired me to have a Saturday lunch feast, haha. My mom and I brought out the wine, cheese, meats, grapes, and sushi (random I know, but just because we were craving). It was a lot of food for 2 people…but it was a good time. My mom LOVED the eggplant and red pepper spread. I did too, but I liked the duck rillettes even better. Both spreads had so much flavor! The gherkins were good as well, and that’s saying something because I HATE pickles. These ones, though, I found to be very refreshing, and went very well to balance outย the other two spreads. The texture/crunch of the petit toasts was perfect. The size was great for sampling the different spreads, and they’re surprisingly filling! We probably would have been fine without the sushi…but our eyes, of course, are always bigger than our stomachs. And no one can complain about sushi, right?
So that wraps up my first experience with Bon Appetit! Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Fast delivery, great packaging, unique and delicious selctions–I really couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely be snacking on these through the next week ๐ For more information about the boxes, check out the websiteย here.
