When it comes to skincare, I suck at keeping a routine. When time becomes scarce and stress levels are high, skincare is the first thing I sacrifice (food and sleep come first, yo). That’s why I’m always super hesitant when it comes to adding things to my already very simple skincare routine. Most of you are probably thinking, then why’d you try Clarisonic? To be honest, a lot of it has to do with social media. I see the thing everywhere–Facebook, Instagram, you name it. So of course, curiosity builds, you know? And I have heard amazing things about it, and I wanted to try it out for myself. Because at the end of the day, yes my skincare routine is simple, but do I really do a good job of cleaning my skin? No. Not at all. There’s always still foundation remnants when I dry off my face after washing. And those blackheads at the tip of my nose? Plentiful. So yeah, my skincare routine could definitely use some improvement.
I’ve been using the Clarisonic Deep Pore Mia 2 set for the past couple of weeks, and I must say, I’m impressed! The set comes with a Mia 2 device (with brush head), the Deep Pore Daily Cleanser, and the Deep Pore Detoxifying Clay Mask. The cleanser you’re supposed to use twice a day and the clay mask you’re supposed to use twice a week. A full charge of the brush lasts 24 minutes, which is about 12 days (2 minutes a day, once in the morning and once at night). The brush is actually quite gentle, and the cleansing experience not uncomfortable at all. I LOVE how this thing comes with a timer, so it shuts off after one minute. It also beeps several time over the course of a minute to let you know when to switch to a different region of your face. Timing goes like this: 20 seconds forehead, 20 seconds nose + chin, 10 seconds on each cheek. So it makes sure that you cover all regions of your face AND ensures that you don’t go over a minute. Skincare doesn’t get much simpler than that. I swear, the hardest part is charging the device…
In terms of the effects on my skin, nothing mind-blowing, but my skin is noticeably cleaner. No more foundation residue, and the blackheads on the tip of my nose have been significantly reduced. Above all, my skin just feels smoother!
So if you’ve been thinking about giving Clarisonic a try, I say go for it. Or maybe put it on your Christmas wish list 😉 If you guys have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below! Otherwise, hope you found this review helpful.
